I’ll be sitting out the sale this year due to my no-buy, but I thought I’d make myself useful and share some of my recs.
You may know I’m a -big- fan of the Algenist Luminizing Drops* (original review here). With so many highlighters on the market, these really stand out to me because they give a natural glow + have skincare properties. They have a deluxe size duo of Rose and Champagne (great deal!), or all three shades (Pearl is my fave) are available individually.
I love Becca’s highlighters, but lately I reach most for the limited edition Prismatic Amethyst. It’s a gorgeous lavender duo-chrome that pops without looking unnatural. The pretty packaging doesn’t hurt either.
I have a few highlighters on my personal wishlist after having a swatch party in my local store. The Marc Jacobs Dew Drops absolutely stole my heart. I brought a sample home and loved mixing them with my foundation. They’re a tad dark for my cheekbones on their own, so I lay these down and place a lighter powder highlighter on top for some punch.
Also on my wishlist is the Dior Nude Air Luminizer in Pink Glow. I looove the Nude Air formula (Nude Glow 001 reviewed here) and I think Pink Glow seems very similar to my favorite highlighter ever, Glowing Pink from the Dior Glowing Gardens collection (spring 2016). A Dior highlighter is definitely a splurge, but these are totally worth it (and, hello, sale?!).
A sale is a great opportunity to try Natasha Denona’s shadows. If you don’t want to make the splurge on her Palette 28’s (Purple-Blue reviewed previously), her 5 pans are very nice too. Her metallic shades are out of this world. In my opinion, her matte shades are only really worth it in the Star Palette (reviewed here). There are lots of pros and cons to her shadows, but I’ll just say I reach for them a lot.
Hourglass has released some new (permanent) blushes – Ambient Strobe Lighting Blushes. Though I haven’t tried these in particular, I love both the Strobe Lighting Powders and the Ambient Lighting Blushes. I’m sure these Strobe Lighting Blushes will be ultra luminous, and I’m totally a fan of that. Hourglass powders are super smooth and definitely worth the splurge.
I’m always a fan of a do-it-all product, and the J. One Jelly Pack is that. I use it as a primer and not only does it provide hydration, it locks everything in place. No kidding, it makes my makeup last the entire day. See my original review and demo vid here.
One of my favorite skincare brands right now is Farmacy. I’ve loved pretty much everything I’ve tried from them. I would recommend getting a skincare set like their Skin Savior Kit, which comes with trial sizes of Honey Potion*, Sleep Tight*, Honey Savior*, and Skin Dew. I’ve talked about Sleep Tight and Honey Potion in previous blog posts.
LXMI is a brand I can really get behind. I encourage everyone to read more about them on the LXMI site, but owner Leila Janah believes in ethically sourced ingredients and pays workers fair wages. On top of that, I’m so in love with the Pure Nilotica Melt*. It’s only one (magical) ingredient that is super nourishing without clogging my pores. I use it at night and wake with soft, moisturized skin. It’s been such a savior for my skin.
A sale is a great time to try Tatcha as well – I’ve talked about my faves from the brand on the blog before. A kit is typically a great idea, like their Bestsellers Set. I’m eyeing the limited edition Luminous Dewy Skin Mist, if only for the gorgeous bottle.
I have lots skincare on my personal wishlist, including Drunk Elephant (Rise + Glow set maybe), Herbivore (thinking about Blue Tansy), and Tata Harper (Daily Essentials Set).
I am obsessed with NARS Monoi Body Glow II. This stuff smells SO good. I even bought the Monoi candle because I love the scent so much. It’s also a fantastic body oil that makes my skin radiant and hydrated.
It’s a great time to stock up on sun care, and I’m loving the Supergoop Sunscreen Mousse*. Who says sunscreen has to be sticky and leave a white cast? This stuff absorbs so well and feels like nothing. Talked about this in my post about prepping for warm weather.
Jo Malone is at Sephora now! I really love her scents, especially Peony & Blush Suede. I’m terrible at describing fragrances, but these are beautiful and high quality. I would love one of her candles, perhaps the Red Roses one?
I’m sad to sit this one out, but I’d love to hear what everyone is hauling! What’s on your Sephora list?
