The much-anticipated Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop was released on Sephora’s site July 2nd, 2015 at noon EST. Single item sale records were broken as many customers rushed to get their highlight on fleek. Initially this highlighter was limited edition, but it has since been added to the permanent lineup due to popularity, as well as the shade in other formulations.
The product itself is described as a “soft white gold w/ pinky peach undertones.” It’s a very complex, beautiful shade.
On me, I do find Champagne Pop to be a tad dark (I’m ~NW13), and it can accentuate my ruddiness when I place it on top of my cheeks if I’m not careful. I think it is more suited in general to medium skin tones.
Like other Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighters, Champagne Pop is a soft, (not super) finely milled powder with medium bits of shimmer. It is incredibly pigmented and can appear to sit on my skin in an unflattering way, so I like to blend with a damp beautyblender to meld it with the other layers of my makeup. Also worth noting, it is a quite delicate powder and I have a crack that developed in mine.
I simply couldn’t resist the allure of such a highly-anticipated, limited edition item. Now that it’s permanent, I feel a bit goofy falling so hard into the hype. I could certainly live without Champagne Pop, but I am happy to have it in my collection. Occasionally, I would like my highlight to be visible from space.
