Dior launched its Spring 2016 campaign a few weeks ago, with the theme Glowing Gardens. The two stars of the collection are definitely the Nude Air highlighting powders in 001 Glowing Pink and 002 Glowing Nude, and stock appears to be diminishing quickly. I can’t find them online at any retailers now, so check your local counter! They retail for $58 and, spoiler alert, they’re worth it!
The embossing on the Nude Air highlighters is just stunning. The formula is just shy of a gelee formula. The powders are super smooth and perfectly pigmented, very similar to the Nude Transat highlighter from Summer 2014. I actually like these a bit better than the Transat!
Glowing Pink is an icy shade with pink tones, perfect for us pale folks. Glowing Nude is a peachy golden nude shade, a little dark, but completely wearable for me. It was really difficult to capture the pink tones of Glowing Pink.
I also compared these highlighters to a few in my collection. Glowing Pink is pretty similar to the highlight shade in the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo in 1 (permanent, available at Sephora). Glowing Nude is darker than both the Diorskin Nude Transat highlighter (no longer available) and Becca Cosmetics Champagne Pop (now permanent, available at Sephora).
These are beautiful highlighters that last all day. The glow is not subtle, but also not glittery – just a stunning sheen!
I also picked up the Dior Addict Lip Glow in Lilac (reviewed here) and a new Colour & Contour eyeshadow and liner duo in 757 Orchid. The waterproof duo is an interesting pairing of a dark burgundy liner with a peachy-pink cream shadow on the other side. I actually ordered the duo called Iris, which has a navy blue liner paired with a silvery-grey cream shadow, but Orchid showed up instead. I will probably pick up Iris later.
I really enjoy this duo. The liner lasted all day on the waterline, even through shoveling the driveway. The shadow blends easily and didn’t crease majorly (I always get a little bit of creasing). The liner and shadow both glide on smoothly, without tugging or drying out my lids. I think they will be perfect for a quick look, or in a travel makeup bag.
I am very happy with my Dior Spring 2016 picks thus far. Each highlighter is a can’t miss, for both the collector and the wearer. The duos are really nice, and I look forward to picking up a few more.
