My hair is fine and gets oily at the roots and dry and the ends, but it’s also color-treated. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding a shampoo and conditioner that can both cleanse and nourish my hair. I heavily rely on dry shampoo so I can get away with not washing my hair every single day, but it leaves a lot of build-up in my roots such that I need to use a non-color-safe shampoo to remove it.
I had an opportunity to try the HASK Charcoal Purifying line and it sounded perfect for my needs. I’ve been seeing the brand more and more through social media too, so I was pretty excited to finally try them out!
|HASK Charcoal Purifying Hair Care|
The line contains charcoal, which, much like a charcoal mask for the face, should draw out impurities and remove product build-up that weighs hair down. They also contain citrus oils rich with vitamin C to cleanse hair without stripping it of moisture. I was particularly excited to see the products are sulfate-free, as sulfates are generally not safe for color-treated hair. They’re also free of parabens,
phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol and artificial colors.
I’ve been testing out the line, and I am in awe! One of my pet peeves about sulfate-free shampoos is that they don’t feel like they’re cleaning my hair. This HASK Charcoal Shampoo* generates a lather and genuinely cleans my hair, but still without stripping my hair. The HASK Charcoal Conditioner* does a great job nourishing my hair without weighing it down, and leaves it shiny, soft, and brushable. Overall, my hair feels thoroughly cleansed, but still hydrated. A perfect balance.
Furthermore, these products have proven to be entirely safe for my color-treated hair. With my last shampoo and conditioner (which claimed to be color-safe), I noticed fading with my hair color within the first week. I have noticed no fading with this product since re-coloring my hair 2 weeks ago.
The Purifying Deep Conditioner* is amazing too. I used this after my beach day last weekend after my hair had been baking in the sun all day. The deep conditioner gave an extra oomph of shine and softness to my dry beach hair.
There is a bit of a scent to these products – I can pick up the charcoal and citrus oils – but overall the scent is mild and pleasant.
You can buy HASK at Ulta. When I saw the price, my jaw dropped – $5.99 for each 12 oz bottle. I usually spend over $20 a bottle on shampoos and conditioners, for products that don’t even work for me. No question, I’ll be repurchasing when I’m finished, and looking at the other products from HASK.
I’ve found my perfect shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner! And they won’t even cost me an arm and a leg. To this point, I hadn’t found a line that cleansed my oily roots, hydrated my dry ends, and protected my color so perfectly. I cannot even believe how amazing this line is for me. I highly recommend.
