There are some products I just have to collect whenever a new shade is released. I’ve been obsessed with the Dior Addict Lip Glows for years, so naturally I needed to have the new Berry shade that launched for Spring 2017. I couldn’t resist and threw the Lip Sugar Scrub onto my order as well, so I have both of these items to share today.
I’ve talked about the Lip Glows previously when the Lilac shade came out last year. These lip balms are great for those who are getting into makeup, or just want a little bit of some color on the lips. They are formulated to change color with the pH of your lips, generating a unique shade. Plus, they’re really lovely balms with lasting moisture.
Berry is the darkest of the Lip Glows and provides the most color, though I’d still classify it as fairly subtle. On me, it appears as a cool-toned pink stain with a little punch of purple. Honestly, it’s the kind of shade I’d hoped Lilac would be last year, as Lilac looks very similar to the original Pink shade, especially on my lips.
The Lip Scrub is really the star of the show for me though. It is incredibly convenient to use and really helps prime lips for the day. Made with sugar, the texture is grainy, but there’s little to no feeling of little particles left on lips (talking to you here, Elf Lip Scrub) and it’s not abrasive. I don’t really notice any scent, maybe a slight sweetness from the sugar. It just melts into skin, leaving nourishment and smooth lips. On top of the exfoliation and balminess, the scrub actually leaves a hint of rosy glow to lips, though it’s not as shiny as the Lip Glows.
See swatches below for comparisons of Berry to other Lip Glows in the lineup, including the Lip Scrub in arm swatches.
I have updated this post to include lip swatches of the 4 Lip Glows below, though the differences are very subtle. Also, it’s worth noting that these will look different on everyone, depending on your lip pigmentation and pH of your lips.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the Dior Addict Lip Glows and love to keep one in my bag for moisture and a little burst of color. I honestly don’t feel like I need all of them, but then again, I do feel like I need them all. Of the two, I’d recommend the Lip Scrub for sure. It’s a really fantastic, effective lip scrub that leaves no residue.
