Even with this whole minimal makeup thing I keep talking about, I do wear foundation most days. It’s a step I just don’t often skip. My face is quite red lately, due to summer sun and heat. I like to lay down a bit of a base to even it out.
I have 4 foundations in my current rotation: 2 with lighter coverage and 2 with medium-full coverage.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick
This was my first foundation stick in my collection, and I’m almost finished with it. I just love the convenience of it. I swipe a few lines across my face, directly from the stick, and then blend with a foundation brush. Done.
I wear shade 0, and there is a shade lighter in the range. The finish is natural (my preference), or a tad dewy if I’m oily. This stick works well for me all year round too – I never have to worry about clinging to dry spots or sliding off my face. I’d say this is best for normal-dry skin.
I also have the MUFE Ultra HD Foundation Stick*. I haven’t been reaching for it as I try to finish Bobbi’s, but I also love it. MUFE has a bit more coverage, so it can get a tad cakey if I am not careful.
Giorgio Armani Crema Nuda
I think I must’ve blacked out when I ordered this because it’s way too expensive for my budget. When it arrived, I was surprised, but decided to give it a shot. Big mistake.
Crema Nuda is a “complexion perfector with the performance power that surpasses both a BB and CC cream.” It is lightweight and sheer, but blurs imperfections. Skin looks natural and glowy.
I wouldn’t call it magic, but I’m pretty impressed. I love how my skin looks when I use this, though sometimes it’s not quite enough to handle my redness. Crema Nuda takes things to another level when skin already looks pretty good.
The biggest drawback is the limited shade range. I wear the lightest shade, “01 Nude Glow,” which is quite cool, though it works for me.
I honestly wish I’d have returned this, but I think I missed Sephora’s return deadline. Instead, I’ll make the most of it since I do like the product – it’s just in no way worth $120.
Lancome Teint Idole*
I’ve always struggled with Lancome’s skincare and base products due to the added fragrance. When I saw Teint Idole was reformulated without fragrance, I was excited to be able to get the product through Octoly.
This is an amazing foundation. It’s incredibly long-wearing with a natural, matte finish. Every time I wear it, I am just so impressed by how beautiful my skin looks all. day. long.
The shade range is huge too! I wear 110C, which seemed too dark, but it works very well.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD*
Again, the finish is quite natural – my go-to. I love to add a liquid illuminator to add some dewiness, but it’s beautiful on its own too.
Massive shade range here too. I wear R230.
I highly recommend this foundation to anyone and everyone!
