I suffer the most from breakouts when I’m stressed. And I’m stressed a lot lately.

I take care of my skin the best I can during rough times, but I still end up with a pimple here or there. I don’t like to turn my entire routine upside-down to tackle a pesky zit or two though. I just want something simple and reliable to slip into my routine.

The Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel* is a spot treatment: such an easy (and effective!) way for me to deal with my infrequent, though stubborn, blemishes.

This collaboration with Zapzyt came at the right time – I had a huge pimple on my chin, ready and waiting for me to try the Acne Treatment Gel. Thank you, grad school.

The entire ingredients list is fairly short. There’s no alcohol, so the over-drying I experienced with other spot treatments is not an issue.

Active ingredient: 10% benzoyl peroxide

Inactive ingredients: Laureth-4, Carbomer 940, EDTA, Diisopropanolamine, Purified Water USP

The treatment contains benzoyl peroxide, which is incredibly effective at reaching bacteria that causes pimples. At a high percentage (10%), this spot treatment works efficiently.

Back to that huge pimple on my chin –

I used a cotton swab to apply a dot of the Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel directly to the pimple before I went to bed. The gel is white in color, but blends in clear. It was completely inconspicuous.

When I woke up the next morning, I looked in the mirror and struggled to find where that pimple had been. It was pretty much non-existent! I couldn’t really see it by eye, though I could feel a slight bump with my fingers.

I’ve had a few other annoying pimples here and there (STRESSSS) since the first trial, and every single time, this Zapzyt gel has, well, zapped all the zits.

With other benzoyl peroxide products I’d used in the past, I noticed drying around the areas I used it. Not in this case! The alcohol-free formula really makes a difference.

Bottom line

This stuff actually works! I’m so impressed. I haven’t had to change my precious skincare routine to tackle those random monster pimples.

→Best part: the Zapzyt Acne Treatment Gel is available at Walmart for under $6!
