I haven’t done a favorites post in awhile, mainly because I had been sticking to the same old products for a few months there. In November, I tried several new products that I’m now obsessing over.
My new favorite cheek combo: Hourglass Ambient Bronzing Powder in Nude Bronze Light + Charlotte Tilbury blush in First Love + MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. These three give me a healthy, natural glow. The bronzer is a fantastic shade for my cool, fair skin because it’s light and not too orange. Charlotte’s blush is silky soft and, upon swirling the two colors, is a perfect satin nude. Soft & Gentle pulls everything together with shine that’s not over-the-top.
And because I love to glow, I’ve also fallen for the LXMI Nilotica Goddess Glow* illuminator. The shade is pink with a golden sheen – a perfect illuminating blush for my fair skin, or a stunning highlight for deeper skin tones. It contains LXMI’s signature hydrating ingredient, Nilotica Reserve, so it’s also skincare and keeps my cheeks hydrated all day. Btw, you can save 30% off your LXMI order with non-affiliate code DIORANDJELLYBEANS 🙂
I’ve had Very Victoria from Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick range on my wishlist since it came out, and I finally grabbed it this month. I love her matte lipstick formula, but this shade is everything. It’s a nude, but slightly cool-toned, so it works really well for me. This lipstick is definitely worth the splurge, from the dreamy rose gold packaging to non-drying, comfortable formula.
This month, I further delved into Drunk Elephant. Though I’ve only used my deluxe sample of the TLC Sukari Babyfacial three times, I’ve been super impressed my skin the following morning: incredibly soft, smooth, and bright. I noticed tingling the first time I used it, but not since. I’m sticking to not more than once per week, just because it is an intense treatment and I don’t want to go overboard.
I rely on retinol to improve my skin’s texture. For the past two months, I’ve been using The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% (now called Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion). I don’t see dramatic results with this retinol, but it’s non-irritating, lightweight, and hydrating. This guy is a great way to start incorporating retinol into a routine.
With cooler, drier weather, my skin has been craving oils. On my face, I’m using the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil. It’s neither too heavy nor too light, and leaves my skin super hydrated overnight. I’ve fallen back in love with NARS Monoi Body Glow II for body oil. It smells amazing and leaves my skin super glowy.
I purchased the Commodity 3×3 set in October during the Sephora Friends & Family sale. I’m obsessed with the Orris EDP and the Tea candle. Orris is so interesting: warm, but light and floral. Tea (Oolong) has a hint of citrus that brightens it.
