Many years ago, my first high-end lip product was the Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink. I have since repurchased several times, and it is still my go-to lip product to keep in my bag for touch-ups during the day.
This year, I’m feeling personally victimized by Dior because they launched SIX new shades and two new formulas. They knew I wouldn’t be able to resist.
So, here we are. We now have a total of 10 Dior Addict Lip Glows, and I’ll be giving you my review, swatches, and comparisons of all of them.
The Dior Addict Lip Glow is a “color reviver balm” that transforms into a natural flush of lip color based on the pH of your lips, combined with the comfort of a lip balm.
Original Glow: “Born backstage and loved by Dior make-up artists for its custom rosy tint effect and subtle shine.”
Matte Glow: “A tinted balm with a velvety, matte finish for a soft blurring effect that enhances lips. Hydrating and nourishing, it has the same Color Reviver technology to flush the lips a soft pink. Works perfectly as a base with a matte lipstick.”
Holographic Glow: “The same comfort and Color Reviver technology in an iridescent “Holographic” glow finish to enhance the lips.”
There are now 10 Dior Addict Lip Glows. Six are in the Original Glow Formula (two are new), and there are two each of the Matte Glow and Holographic Glow.
Original Glow: Pink (001), Coral (004), Lilac (005), Berry (006); new – Raspberry (007), Ultra-Pink (008)
Matte Glow: Matte Pink (101), Matte Raspberry (102)
Holographic Glow: Holo Purple (009), Holo Pink (010)
Swatches + Comparisons
The differences among the shades are quite subtle, especially with the Original Glow formula. Of course, these tend to look different on everyone, depending on how much you build up the color and the pH of your lips.
There are a lot of shades to choose from, and again, many end up looking quite similar on the lips, especially within the Original formula. Raspberry and Ultra-Pink end up looking about the same on me, and just a little warmer than Berry.
The new formulas stand out as beautiful complements to the Original Glow formula.
The Holographic Glows are gorgeous. They have beautiful shimmer that gives lips a wet look, like a more subdued version of the Dior Addict Ultra Glosses. It’s really nice to have the shine of a lip gloss without the stickiness. Holo Purple has cool-toned, blue shimmer, while Holo Pink has warmer, peachy shimmer. I love both and can’t stop wearing them!
I should note that the Matte Glow formula seems to have a minty scent, while the Original and Holographic formulas have no scent to me. The mint dissipates within a couple of minutes with a minimal cooling sensation on my lips. The mattes are not flat – more like a satin than enhances lip shape. It’s nice to have a matte/satin finish with the comfort of a lip balm. These would be great to prep lips for a matte liquid lip. Matte Raspberry shows up very well on my lips and I’ve been loving it to quickly pull together a look.
I definitely recommend trying one of the new formulas (especially the Holographic!) if you have and love the Original.
