One of my goals for 2018 is to use up more products. I figured making regular empties posts would be a great way for me to keep track of used products and share my thoughts, broken down based on how I feel about each product. So, we’ll kick off the year with some empties I’ve been accumulating!
Guerlain Gentle Eye Makeup Remover │ $55 / 4.2 oz
Why would I even own such a crazy expensive makeup remover, you ask? Well, I used to purchase from a Guerlain rep. She would spoil me with gifts with purchase, so I would buy odds and ends from her without even asking how much they cost. It was bad for my wallet. Anyway, I bought this makeup remover, and it is very good. It is. It’s very good at removing all of my makeup without irritation. I just could never bear to purchase this again, now that I know how much it costs.
Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover │ $30 / 4.2 oz
I have accumulated so many minis of this makeup remover. It is super effective at removing makeup, but it irritates my eyes every time I use it. I really wish it worked for me because it is such an amazing makeup remover. Since I can’t use it on my face, I use this to remove swatches from my arm. #bloggerlife
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream │ $15 / 10.1 oz
I typically love Soap & Glory. Their Righteous Body Butter is amazing! Unfortunately, this body lotion has waaaay too strong of a scent. Luke actually bore through the majority of this one. It is a nice lotion, but I just can’t with the overly sweet smell.
On the fence
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet │ $39 / 1.3 oz
The texture is nice and it’s hydrating, but it can feel a little sticky on my skin. This works best for me in the fall or spring when my skin is only slightly dry. It doesn’t do anything spectacular, but it’s not bad. I’ll probably continue to use the minis.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser │ $18 / 6 oz
I really enjoy this cleanser during the summer, but not so much as my skin gets drier in colder weather. It cleans and removes makeup very well, plus leaves my skin softer. I may repurchase this during the spring when it starts to warm up outside, but I do have a lot of other cleansers I need to finish.
Dr. Dennis Gross Extra-Strength Alpha Beta Peel Pads │ $88 / 30 applications
I love this 2-step peel. It’s super quick and easy, but gives me great results. I tend to reach for these when my skin is not looking its best. The next day, my skin is renewed – improved texture, brighter, and softer. I always have these around!
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo │ $18 / 3.5 oz
One of my fave dry shampoos. I could do without the baby powder scent and it takes some effort to work into my dark hair, but it’s the most effective at controlling oil.
HUM Nutrition Base Control (Iron Free) │ $10 / 30 tablets
I love to take a multivitamin, so obviously I needed HUM’s. This one is packed with everything I need. I use the version without iron because I tend to have high iron levels. I have already gotten my hands on more!
HUM Nutrition Hair Sweet Hair* │ $20 / 60 gummies
I was thrilled when HUM finally got into the gummy game! Of course, they nailed it. These little hearts are soooo yummy. Plus, they keep my hair healthier. I ordered more.
LXMI Crème du Nil │ $58 / 1.2 oz
You know by now I am obsessed with LXMI. Crème du Nil is my favorite AM moisturizer right now. It’s hydrating and smoothing without feeling heavy. I have another mini to finish before I purchase the full size. If you’re interested in trying LXMI, you can save 30% off your order with non-affiliate code DIORANDJELLYBEANS 🙂
Purlisse Blue Lotus Cleansing Milk* │ $36 / 5.07 oz
This cleanser is great all year round and a huge favorite of mine as a second or AM cleanser. It leaves my skin super clean without being stripped. I plan to purchase this once I finish up a few other cleansers.
