Instytutum Skincare ReviewInstytutum is a Swiss skincare brand with high standards for effectiveness and quality. The water used in their products is ultra-pure, passing through a 5-step filtration process for use as the perfect base ingredient. They formulate products without parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, synthetic dyes or SLES/SLS. Overall, the brand is committed to luxury, from ingredients to packaging.

I was excited to partner with Instytutum, especially after reading their story on the brand’s website. Of course, effective products are important to me (and I don’t mind the beautiful packaging), but I really appreciate that Instytutum gives back. They support communities in need of clean water – one of the most basic needs that I often take for granted.

I’ve been testing several products from Instytutum for the past several weeks: Alive Water*, Eye Cream*, Flawless Pads*, Triple Effect Peel*, and Flawless Skin Mask*. I’m super excited to let you know my thoughts on these products today (and share a non-affiliate code to save 20% on your order!).

Alive Water

→Available on the Instytutum website

What it is: hydrating, soothing face mist

Ingredients: water (aqua), propanediol, levulinic acid, panthenol, glycerin, cystoseira amentacea/caespitosa branchycarpa extract, sodium benzoate, sodium levulinate, sodium hydroxide, sucrose, saccharomyces/copper ferment, saccharomyces/iron ferment, saccharomyces/magnesium ferment, saccharomyces/silicon ferment, saccharomyces/zinc ferment, meristotheca dakarensis extract, jania rubens extract, leuconostoc/radish root ferment filtrate, potassium sorbate, crithmum maritimum extractInstytutum Skincare Review - Alive Water

I love to use facial mists to hydrate and perk up my skin, so I knew I’d be all over something called “Alive Water.” The ultra-pure water they use is paired with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to not only refresh skin, but to boost moisture and collagen production. I love a mist with further benefits than just being refreshing!

This mist is very fine and feels amazing on my skin. It takes a minute or two to sink in all the way (no alcohol!), though it doesn’t look or feel like there’s water sitting on my skin. It’s hydrating and leaves my skin looking healthier.

I use this throughout the day to rehydrate my dry skin without affecting my makeup. I also love this after a workout. My skin gets super irritated and dry after a run, but it’s so sensitive, I can’t put much on my skin. This mist replenishes moisture without further inflaming my skin.

Eye Cream

→Available on the Instytutum website

Price: $89 / 0.5 fl oz (15 mL)

What it is: ultimate anti-wrinkle brightening eye cream

Ingredients: water (aqua), glycerin, butylene glycol, caprylic/capric triglyceride, coco-caprylate/caprate, sorbitan stearate, shea (butyrospermum parkii) butter, cetyl alcohol, acacia senegal gum, rice (oryza sativa) starch, phenoxyethanol, carbomer, oat (avena sativa) kernel extract, hydrolyzed rhizobian gum, ethylhexylglycerin, sodium hydroxide, caffeine, carrageenan (chondrus crispus) powder, bisabolol, sodium hyaluronate, palmitoyl tripeptide-5, PEG-8, hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, tocopherol, retinol, psilanthus bengalensis leaf cell culture extract, ascorbyl palmitate, sodium succinate, ascorbic acid, citric acid, succinic acid, rubus idaeus leaf cell cultureInstytutum Skincare Review - Eye Cream

My eye care needs are preventative anti-aging, hydration, and brightening. This eye cream fits the bill. It has shea butter to hydrate, caffeine to reduce puffiness, peptides for firming, and retinol to brighten and boost collagen.

I’m actually quite picky in terms of texture of an eye cream, but this is pretty much perfect. It has the right amount of thickness to protect and smooth, while still absorbing well enough that I can layer makeup on top. I was quite pleased to see that this eye cream comes with a spatula as well. Always bonus points for that!

I could see immediate results using this eye cream: a more smooth, hydrated eye area. With continued use, I’m noticing my eyes have an overall healthier appearance. My eye area is more firm and slightly more bright and lifted. With this eye cream’s proper hydration and firming, my preventative anti-aging goal is being met.

Flawless Pads

→Available on the Instytutum website

Price: $69 / 60 pads = 3.0 fl oz (88 mL)

What it is: daily power multi-acid resurfacing treatment

Ingredients: water (aqua), butylene glycol, glycolic acid, niacinamide, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol, saccharideisomerate, citric acid, salicylic acid, glycerin, panthenol, ethylhexylglycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, PPG-26-buteth-26, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, fragrance (parfum), sodium hyaluronate, sodium citrate, portulaca oleracea extractInstytutum Skincare Review - Flawless Pads

I love the ease of peel pads to improve the texture of my skin. These pads are packed with all the good acids to exfoliate skin: glycolic, lactic, citric, and salicylic acid. They are balanced with moisture-promoting hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B3.

I am obsessed. The Flawless Pads are insanely good.

The pads themselves are smooth (not textured) and soaked with the ingredients. Generally, I have mild to moderate irritation and/or dryness from using a peel pad. I have no irritation or drying whatsoever from these pads. I know, I’m just as surprised as you.

Not only are the Flawless Pads gentle, they are super effective. When I wake up the next morning, my skin is soft and bright, plus my skin texture is improved and my pore size is reduced. Magic.

I like to use these peel pads every other night to keep my skin exfoliated and even in tone.

Triple Effect Peel

→Available on the Instytutum website

Price: $79 / 4.2 fl oz (120 mL)

What it is: triple action resurfacing peel

Ingredients: glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, water (aqua), sucrose stearate, polyethylene, phenoxyethanol, microcrystalline cellulose, fragrance (parfum), ethylhexylglycerin, chlorphenesin, allantoin, cellulose gum, xantham gum, carrageenan (chondrus crispus) powder, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), PEG-8, tocopherol, papain, acacia senegal gum, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, salicylic acid, ascorbyl palmitate, cyperus rotundus root extract, honeysuckle (lonicera japonica) flower extract, xanthium sibiricum fruit extract, sodium succinate, ascorbic acid, citric acid, sodium benzoate, succinic acidInstytutum Skincare Review - Triple-Effect Peel

The Flawless Pads are part of my nightly ritual, while the Triple Effect Peel is my go-to for a big occasion to guarantee my skin is perfect for the day.

The Triple Effect Peel has salicylic acid to clear pores, papaya enzymes to soften skin, and micro-polishing particles to smooth skin. Overall, skin is cleaned deeply for immediate radiance and smoothness.

The peel comes from a tube and is creamy with fine particles. I mist my skin with the Alive Water first, and gently apply the peel to my skin. With my sensitive skin, I don’t like to rub in physical exfoliants. I let the peel sit on my skin as a mask for no more than 5 minutes before removing with water. Again, I’m careful not to rub the particles into my skin as I remove the peel.

Right away, my skin is baby soft and bright for the perfect base, either for makeup application or a confident no-makeup day.

Flawless Skin Mask

→Available on the Instytutum website

Price: $69 / 5 sheet masks

What it is: age-defying perfecting facial sheet mask

Ingredients: water (aqua), glycerin, hydrolyzed collagen, sodium hyaluronate, acetyl hexapeptide-8, isomalt, portulaca oleracea extract, chamomilla recutita, mannan, polysorbate 80, ceratonia siliqua gum, disodium EDTA, potassium hydroxide, dipotassium glycyrrhizate, butylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, malus domestica fruit cell culture extract, rhododendron, ferrugineum leaf cell culture extract, xantham gum, lecithinInstytutum Skincare Review - Flawless Skin Mask

Sheet masks are nice to pamper skin. Instytutum’s sheet mask offers deep hydration and a boost of collagen to firm and lift skin.

I was surprised when I opened up the mask because it comes in 2 pieces: a sheet for the upper face (forehead down to nose) and a sheet for the lower face (mouth area). I really like this idea because sheet masks are never one-size-fits-all. The 2 piece system helped me find the right orientation for a comfortable fit.

There’s lots of (non-sticky) essence on the sheets, which I love. I usually wear the sheet mask for about 20 minutes. There’s still essence on the mask after 20 minutes, but for some reason, the lower sheet wouldn’t stay put anymore. Once time is up, I rub the extra essence on my face and neck. My skin feels a little extra hydrated the rest of the day.

The sheet mask is a great follow-up to the Triple Effect Peel to hydrate skin.

Overall, I’m very impressed with Instytutum! The products are highly effective and, to my surprise, gentle as well.

My favorite: the Flawless Pads! I’m so in love with these peel pads and highly recommend them. The Alive Water and Eye Cream are also wonderful and favorites of mine. The eye cream seems like it will last forever, but I plan on purchasing it when I finish. I am excited to use the mist in the summer too, because I think it will be the perfect way to beat the heat.

I really enjoy the Triple Effect Peel, but I’d like to see how long the tube lasts since it is quite pricy. It seems like a little goes a long way and it’s more of a special-occasion product, so I think I’d be okay with spending the money. The only product I’m not sure I’d purchase myself is the Flawless Skin Mask. I do think it’s a wonderful sheet mask, but in general, I don’t use sheet masks too often. If you’re a sheet mask fanatic, I think you’d enjoy this one though!
