The start of 2018 has been a lot of fun for me in terms of beauty. I nailed down a no-makeup look that I can throw together in a pinch, but I also played with color a bit more than I had been lately. My skin has been generally good (with one patch of weirdness on my cheek that went away quickly), which is always a plus.

I was hugely surprised by how much I enjoyed the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette. It’s been on my vanity since I got it – I end up using it several times a week, either on its own or as a complement to other shadows. Too Faced did an amazing job creating pigmented metallics that are actually easy to use and wear. I reviewed this palette earlier this month.
My other go-to has been the MAC x Patrick Starrr Glam AF palette*. The 4 shades are perfectly coordinated for a neutral look. I loved the entire MAC x Patrick Starrr collection, but I reach for this quad the most.
I’ve been loving a fresh glow from the NARS Blush in Outlaw. I use a fan brush to lightly dust this over my cheeks. It has a golden sheen to make it look like I’ve actually seen the sun. You can check out my post to see the other NARS Blushes I’m loving this winter.
My love for the MAC Strobe Cream* was reawakened this month. It’s a beautiful pearly white cream that I can mix with my foundation for a radiant finish, or on my cheekbones for a pop. It’s so versatile!
Of course, I’ve been all over Kat Von D’s new Studded Kiss Crème Lipsticks. The pigmentation of these lipsticks is insane and the colors are gorgeous. Definitely an improvement over the old formula. Of the ten I purchased and reviewed, I’ve been reaching for Ludwig and Sanctuary the most.
You can always find one (or more) of the Dior Addict Lip Glows in my bag. For Spring, Dior launched 6 new shades + 2 new finishes. I’m obsessed with the new Holographic finish – they have the feel of a balm with the finish of a gloss. So pretty. I really love the Mattes too. They are comfortable and add a subtle oomph to a look.
Not really makeup, but the Michael Todd Sonicblend Makeup Brush* is amazing. Like for real. Game-changer. It’s an anti-microbial, sonic makeup brush that makes foundation application so fast. The “sonic movements” blend foundation flawlessly into my skin. Every single foundation in my collection looks better when I use this. I used to use my beautyblender to apply foundation, but I only use this brush now. It is totally worth it.
Earlier this week, I posted my review of Instytutum. I was impressed with their products overall, but I went crazy for the Flawless Pads*. These pads have all the best acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic, citric) to exfoliate skin, but somehow they are super gentle. They work so well to smooth my skin, reduce pores, and reduce blemishes. Amazing. (PS – you can save 20% off your Instytutum order with non-affiliate code jelly20)
The Dr. Dennis Gross Triple C Peptide Firming Oil* has been on heavy rotation. It has three forms of vitamin C + peptides to brighten and firm skin. It’s moisturizing and easy to layer because it’s not too oily. Using this, my skin feels more nourished and resilient with a healthy glow. Love!
