Ah, buying beauty products: my favorite past-time.
I had a couple of gift cards, so I bought a few items from the Sephora Spring Bonus Sale with my Rouge 15% discount. Around the same time, I received a 20% off coupon from Ulta that was usable on prestige brands.
So here’s what I bought + a few first impressions on the products!
With summer coming, I wanted to make sure I had another sunscreen around. I loved that this one was mineral with SPF 45. And I love me some squalane.
Thus far, my favorite physical sunscreen is Farmacy Green Screen*, and I think it will remain my favorite. This Biossance one is pretty nice, but it leaves more of a white cast and is actually not quite as hydrating as I hoped it would be. It just feels like something is on my skin. I’ll see how it performs as summer approaches.
I was so excited when Farmacy recently came out with a new everyday cleanser! Their Green Clean* is my favorite makeup removing cleanser.
I’m not totally sold on this yet. The smell is strong (like honey) – a bit much. It does a good job removing some residual makeup and feels nice on my skin while I’m cleansing. However, my skin feels a bit dry after I use this.
Foiled again by my dry skin. We’ll see how this works in the summer though.
I loved FAB’s other face mist, which is no longer at Sephora. I figured this must be their new and improved rendition, so obviously I needed it.
It has kind of a cucumber scent with a fine mist. It’s soooo refreshing and makes my skin feel resilient. I will definitely be reaching for this a bunch this summer!
I’ve had a crush on this curler for awhile, mainly because it’s black. So sleek!
I only tried it once so far, but it seems to fit my eye shape pretty well. It’s a little wider than what I’ve been using (from Dior), so I’ll need to adjust. My mind is not blown yet, but we’ll see!
I’m so happy that Ulta is carrying NARS now! They had the new highlighters, so I grabbed Fort De France, the champagne shade that everyone is raving about.
The shade seems a little dark for me, but it’s beautiful and the formula is soooo good. It kind of reminds me of my favorite Dior Luminizers – super soft, not too powdery, looks flawless on skin.
I’d never actually owned this concealer before, can you believe it? When I was in a Sephora for an event last year, one of the associates put this concealer on me and I was happy with it. She used Crème Brulee, so that’s the shade I picked up.
I haven’t used this yet under my eyes, but swatching it, I feel like it might be a tad too dark. It also isn’t quite as pink as I hoped – maybe I was cursed by the poor Sephora lighting? I have to try it first to be sure. I may exchange it for Vanilla if this one isn’t quite right.
Did you pick up anything from Sephora or Ulta recently? ↓
