MAC x Patrick Starrr Diva Feva Collection ReviewOne of my favorite collabs from MAC has been with Patrick Starrr. The holiday collection was all about the basics, while the spring face kits (I reviewed Me So Fleek) had a floral theme with punches of vibrant color.

MAC and Patrick Starrr are back again, this time with a tropical-themed summer collection! I have the full face kit* and opalescent powder* to share today. These are currently available on MAC’s website and will launch in stores on 6/7.

Diva Feva

Feel the heat in the tropical-chic shades of PATRICK STARRR’s newest collection! Reflect rays in Opalescent Face Powder or dive in all the way with Summer Starrr, a Full Face Kit featuring sun-warmed Bronzing Powder, two sandy Lipglass shades and Heat Stroke – an Eye Shadow x 4 palette perfect for steamy summer nights. Settle into STARRR’s high-glamour cabana with every single hot and heavy hue.

The packaging features a colorful chevron and feels both nostalgic and modern. The full face kit is a steal at $49.50 (value $95!), while the special packaging powder retails for $34.MAC x Patrick Starrr Diva Feva Collection Review - Hot and Heavy

Hot and Heavy Opalescent Powder

What it is: An opalescent face powder that reflects rays in a neutral tan shade with gold shimmer.

I didn’t really know what to expect with this “opalescent powder”. I’ve been treating it like a highlighter because it definitely packs some shine!

The feel is similar to the Extra Dimension Skinfinishes, but it’s a tad more powdery. I think the best comparison would be to the Dior Nude Air Luminizers (my fave highlighters ever). Both the Dior formula and this MAC powder have fine shimmer that does not accentuate my pores.

Hot and Heavy is a “neutral tan with gold shimmer” that I think will be flattering on a lot of skin tones. See swatches below, both built up and blended out.

This highlighter is really beautiful! Especially paired with the bronzer from the face kit, this really gives a glowing goddess feel.

Summer Starrr Full Face Kit

What it is: A complete kit of products for the entire face that includes a Bronzing Powder, two Lipglass shades and an Eye Shadow x 4 palette.MAC x Patrick Starrr Diva Feva Collection Review - Give Me Life

Bronzing Powder

Give Me Life is a “soft golden bronze” in the typical MAC blush/bronzer powder formula. It’s soft to the touch, but not super buttery. It picks up well on a brush and deposits evenly. The color is a bit strong for me when I first apply (so much pale), so I buff it out with Guerlain Meteorites Perles for a subtle look.

See swatches below, both built up and blended out.

I usually don’t get too excited about bronzers – not because I don’t love bronzer, but because it’s rare that a shade actually works for my fair, cool skin. Surprisingly, this bronzer is warm, but not orange on me. It makes my skin look healthy – love!

Eyeshadow x 4

The Heat Stroke quad contains coordinating warm shades:

Sandy Crotch – muted orange with pearl (matte)

Brash – pinkish brick with gold shimmer (veluxe pearl)

Ruddy – intense red with gold shimmer (veluxe pearl)

Mabuhay – deep peachy brown pink with shimmer (matte)

The color scheme is really beautiful and fits well into the overall collection theme. It definitely makes me think of a hot summer night on a tropical getaway (not that I’ve ever been lol).

The shimmers are really intense and beautiful! Brash is everything – it’s such a beautiful copper! Ruddy is a bit much for me personally. The mattes work well, though Sandy Crotch could be a little better. Just swatching with my finger, I felt like it was already getting a little stiff. It did still work well on my eyes though. MAC x Patrick Starrr Diva Feva Collection Review - Cream Pie and Fashion Punch Lipglasses

Lipglasses

The Lipglasses are both effortless neutral colors to balance out the intense eyes and glowing cheeks:

Cream Pie – midtown neutral pink

Fashion Punch – pale peach

Fashion Punch has some fine shimmer in it, while Cream Pie is strictly shine.

These shades are not super special, but they’re wearable and easy to throw on in a rush. I enjoy these glosses, but they are slightly stickier and thicker than some of the newer gloss formulas out there that have really perfected comfort (like Urban Decay’s). Still, these are great for layering or on their own and I’m not disappointed!

The Opalescent Face Powder is gorgeous and the formula is amazing! It will definitely be a go-to for me this summer.

The Summer Starrr Full Face Kit is such a great value! I don’t think it would be a disappointment to grab it, unless you’d only use 1 or 2 items. I like the idea of these kits for the value, but I would like to see more individual products when the products might not work for everyone.

Overall, this collection is a big hit for me! Are you grabbing anything from the Diva Feva collection? ↓
