About

Hi there!

My name is Jenn and I’m a PhD student in chemistry living near Boston in the US.

I enjoy breakfast all day, Netflix, hiking, and more eating. A little bit of sunshine goes a long way in my day. Inanimate objects with little faces make me laugh. I love being around other people, but I am quite introverted and need some alone time to recharge. Self-improvement is important to me. I easily feel down, but one of my biggest goals in life is to help raise others up.

Of course, beauty is also a huge passion in my life. I love taking care of my skin and the ritual of applying makeup. Blogging has become an outlet for me to share my adventures and express myself through words and photography.

Feel free to contact me via email at beautybyjellybean@gmail.com, or connect with me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.

Frequently asked questions

What is your skin tone and skin type?

I have fair, cool-toned skin. I usually wear NW10 in MAC.
My skin is normal-dry (extra dry in the winter). Most of my breakouts are hormonal, though occasionally my skin will revolt against a new product and reward me with pimples.

What are your skincare goals?

For the most part, my goals have been general maintenance, focusing on hydration, gentle exfoliation, and sun protection.
But…*whispers* I’m approaching 30 this year. I’ve been monitoring my skin closely and I’ll be incorporating more anti-aging skincare in my routine as I see fit.

How do you take and edit your photos?

I am currently using a Sony A7Rii with a Sony Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 lens. I typically use natural lighting, occasionally paired with an external flash. I shoot RAW and use Adobe Camera Raw + Photoshop to edit.
